How it works: The Chat-R-Box® Pro is powered by the same 24 VAC your irriation controller uses to operate your zone valves. The Pro will not damage the valve's solenoids because the 24 VAC is intermittently applied. The valve operates on a solenoid, which has a small metal rod encased in a spool of thin wire. When the power is applied the solenoid acts like an electro magnet and pulses the metal rod and emits a clacking sound of 5 clicks per second. Limitations: The solenoid uses 24 VAC (not DC valves which is not very common) and the solenoids must be working (shorted or open solenoids while not click).
