Item may ship in original packaging, revealing what's inside. Leave a message for discreet packaging. Grain: organic rye. Substrate: rabbit dung (main component), chicken manure, cow manure, horse manure, coffee grounds, straw, soy hull, gypsum, coco coir, vermiculitte Bags are new and freshly made, with 0.2 micron air filter and injection port. For items 5 lb and larger an additional injection port on the top is added, so you can inject a sterile water lately(when the substrate will be partly occupied) to water mycelium if needed to help growing. Attention: mushroom culture is not included - you won't find syringes in the order. You will need to have your own mushroom culture. You can also leave a message about what kind of mushrooms you are going to grow, so we will customize substrate components if possible Please massage bags well after unpacking to let air in through the filter! We stand behind our products. If you like what you got, please give us 5 stars. If you don't like the product or if you see a problem with it, please give us a chance to correct it by refunding or sending a replacement. Thank you! Instructions:Use sanitized gloves and mask at this stage. Unpack in a clean environment: get the grow bag from the packaging and remove the scotch tape used to tighten up the grow bag. Unwrap the bag and let some air go inside through the air filter. Massage the substrate a little bit to make it conduct air to the bottom part. Sanitize the injection port and the needle and inject your liquid culture (neither needles nor syringes are included in the order). Put the inoculated bag in the clean, dark area for 1 - 2 weeks. Keep the temperature around the recommended value for your type of mushroom growing/colonizing stage (usually around 75F).Grains in the bag should be entirely (or almost entirely) colonized with white mycelium.Massage gently the bag to spread the white mycelium parts into the substrate area. Keep the filter area clean and untouched.Wait another 1 - 2 weeks for the mycelium to colonize the substrate (same temperature). In case if the bag is large and mycelium occupies the substrate part slow, it can drink most of water, so you can inject sterile water (50-70cc) to help it to continue. After the entire substrate is colonized, open the bag (in the clean humid (about 90%) area) from the top or/and make holes on the sides. The bag should be getting some fresh air, some light, and be sprayed with clean water if opened from the top. Do not spray too much (no paddles in the bottom). Keep the temperature according to the recommended for fruiting your type of mushroom (usually around 65-70F). The temperature regime is desirable, but not mandatory: being out of the recommended values a bit, will slow, but not stop the process. Some types of mushrooms (not too many) may need cold shock to trigger the pinning process (reducing even more temperature for a couple of days). If opened from top many cultures may want to get casing layer (learn about it). Sometimes small halls need to be made on the bottom of the bag to drain, Fruited mycelium should start pinning (erecting baby mushroom shots) within a few days.
